The board of the Audio and Visual Fund - seven members appointed by the Ministry of Culture and the artist and production organisations - is responsible for the final allocation of funds. The board is appointed biannually. Head of the board is Stein Bjelland.
6 expert committees, with 28 members proposed by the artist organisations and appointed by the board, evaluate the applications.
Arts Council Norway functions as the secretariat for The Audio and Visual Fund.

Arts Council Norway received 2924 applications to The Audio and Visual Fund in 2017. 586 applications were granted funding.
