New Earports – International Festival and Conference on Concerts for Young Ears
Rikskonsertene i Norge samarbeidet i 2003 med tilsvarende organisasjoner i andre europeiske land om en skolekonsertfestival.
NEW EARPORTS is both a conference and a festival that aims to explore new ways of reaching young people with live music of all kinds and to stimulate the international exchange of musical programs created for young audiences. A conference: some twenty key speakers will address the issues of concert production and performance for children and teenagers in a series of seminars based on three main themes: concerts in schools, the role of institutions such as orchestras and concert halls, and communication aspects of performances for young audiences.
A festival: various concerts specially designed for young audiences, from solo pianists to a symphony orchestra - and from ten different countries, will take place during the event. Music Crossroads winners Tikhu Vibrations, from Malawi, will be amongst the performers.
NEW EARPORTS will bring together producers, concert organizers, directors of concert halls, school organizers, musicians and performers who are looking for innovative and effective ways of passing on their love of music to the future generations.
