Festival

Financial support to music festivals - funds music festivals held annually or biannually with a minumum of two day programmes. The festivals are required to also receive public funds from their own regions.

Touring and concert support for rock and popular music - provides funding for tours and smaller rock and pop music festivals.

Grants may also be provided to festivals in the form of project support for: children and young people, performing arts, visual arts and literature. 

Theatre / Performance

Performing arts - funding for single productions held outside the permanent institutions or to several productions for a limited period, up to a maximum of four years. Artistic justification will be required.

Performing arts and new technology - funding for development of new scenic expressions created with the help of new technology, or projects that combine performing arts with new technology.

Guest plays - funding for pre-produced performances of free groups and institutions, which will be presented in a location outside its own theatre/performing area and outside the normal tour operation.

Historical plays / outdoor plays - funding for measures that will increase the artistic quality of local and regional historical plays and outdoor plays. Support may be given i.e. to manuscripts, direction and choreography.

Development of synopsis - funding for authors who want to further develop an idea or a project to a dramatic work, or synopsis. The author has to apply.


Dance / choreography

Dance - funding for professional choreographers and dancers, productions, producers and professional units within dance, that initiate projects with professional artists.

Performing arts - funding for single productions outside the permanent institutions or to several productions for a fixed period, to a maximum of four years. Artistic justification will be required.

Development of choreography - funding for choreographers who wish to further develop a project on their own. The choreographer has to apply.

Performing arts and new technology - funding for development of new scenic expressions created with the help of new technology, or projects that combine performing arts with new technology.

Touring and concert support for rock and pop music - funding for tours in Norway or abroad.

Church music - funding for projects that contribute to increase the cooperation between the various church music environments and church music projects involving music and arenas outside the church.

Project support - funding for various measures and projects within the music field.

Exhibition

Project support - visual arts:  - funding for exhibitions, experiments with new design, publication of art literature, artists' books, exhibition catalogues and other special projects.

Project support - cultural heritage: - funding for projects focusing on protection of cultural heritage in Norway and make the Norwegian cultural heritage better known - and accessible to as many people as possible.

Exhibition support for artists in the establishing phase: - funding for artists or groups of artists that exhibit for the first time or are in an early stage of their career.

The National Exhibition Scholarship - the scholarship shall be used to organise separate- or group-based exhibitions in Norway available to the public and agreed upon by a gallery / exhibition venue.

Cultural change and contemporary art - visual arts - funding for exhibitions.

Children and young people - funding for productions and presentations of art and culture for children and young people in all the traditional areas like music, performing arts, literature and visual arts, as well as artistic design of public space visited by children and young people, cultural heritage and cross artistic projects.

Seminar / workshop -funding for seminars, workshops and other presentation projects in all areas. Contact the individual field for information; music, performing arts, literature and visual arts.

Cultural change and contemporary art - visual arts - funding for among other things, various promotion activities or seminars, workshops, etc. with an aim to involve and engage new audiences for participation in the arts.
